Long time no write

Okay, sorry, it's been a little hectic lately. I'm operating on an average of five hours of sleep a night. So, until my afternoon nap (if I get one) I'm a little ditzy and can not be held responsible for anything I say or do! Jayden is growing (he better be for how much time I'm up feeding him at night). I took him for his two week appointment and he topped his birth weight by more than a pound!

He is a very sweet boy and only cries for food or because of gas. Sure hope that continues. He is starting to pull funny faces and loves to look at himself in the mirror. The arms are starting to flail and we can't keep him in blankets. He spent his first half hour outside Sunday and again on Monday. What beautiful weather. Today is cold though so I'm glad we got out.

Our bishop thought we would be able to give him a name and a blessing, so we bought an outfit. We have now learned that we won't be able to do that until our adoption is final, so the outfit goes back! I'll get a bigger size and only have to get one now.

Time to take Cole to school. Tata for now....

Name(s)?

At first we had thought we had settled on Everett Jayden Pearce, but now that he is ours and home....uh....I'm not so sure. I don't think he looks like an Everett, and I can't seem to call him that. I'm leaning towards Jayden for his first name. I think he's a Jayden kind of kid. I also really liked Elijah, which means gift from God. So, unofficially, it is Jayden Elijah Pearce!

It's offical

He is the cutest of the over 400 babies that A Guardian Angel Adoption Agency has overseen. We had agency people making a special trip to the hospital just to see him. They were asking the birth parents if they could bring in another couple, that was there for their baby's birth, to see him. We were discharged from the hospital today and we are now home for our first night together as a family.

My first outfit

Cole came home from school with a picture that he had drawn for his new little brother. He drew a picture of a duck and his teacher helped him write a note. We are all so excited to start our new life. Hopefully, our first night together will be pretty uneventful though.

Now, I'm quite worn out and I'm seeing triple (which makes typing and reading difficult).

Baby update and switcharoo

Baby girl's Mom was probably doing some drugs because she wouldn't give a pee sample at her Dr. appt. The agency did all they could to find out what she was using but baby girl's Mom took off.

But, our little baby boy will be born in the morning.

Here is what we know:
Mom-5'3" tall caucasian, brownish/blondish hair, green eyes
Dad-5'6" tall African American, brown hair, brown eyes

Both are very young. We will be meeting them for the first time in the morning.

Wish me luck!

Easter-Heber City Style....

We decided to spend Easter weekend at the cabin, so Friday night we checked with the local grocery store to find an Easter Egg Hunt. There was one and Trent got directions. We were told it was indoors. I was thinking maybe the school, or a city building. We ended up at a baseball diamond and park. There was a large building. It was an indoor horse arena. We couldn't see inside yet and I was expecting to see bails of hay and cute cut out bunnies, something in the way of decorations....boy, was I wrong....

Dirt, dirt and more dirt....candy was everywhere, but no charming decor for Heber City. Cole was all ready to go. Trent and I told him to hurry to the back because most of the kids would go for the closest candy. Cole was rocking forward and back and pawing the ground with one foot, just rarin' to go. When they cut the tape, Cole ran to the back and ran and ran some more and then ran the other direction. The candy was rapidly disappearing and still Cole was just running. He was too far away to yell at and even though we where in Heber I didn't want to act like too big a yokel. When all the candy was gone, Cole only had about six things. He was upset because he was trying to find a ball and couldn't find one. He cried and cried and then had dirt tracks down his face. Poor thing, it was pathetic. He then opened one of his treats and handed it to me. What he handed me was a roll of gum kind of like bubble tape, but a cheap version, that was so old and stale I couldn't dent it with my fingernails, let alone get a piece off.

Never fear, though, I saved the day by taking him to Smith's for real gum and a redbox video. We enjoyed finding our baskets at the cabin and then came home to a real Easter egg hunt. Hop you had a hoppy Easter all.

Browne Lake-it means something

Our family has camped at Browne Lake every June for nearly 50 years. It is a small obscure little man-made lake that no one knows about. No running water, no power, no phones-perfect. As I was preparing my profile pages for adoption, I chose to do one about Browne. We've always enjoyed the time we spend at the lake. We were called yesterday and told to hurry with our profile, there was a girl that didn't like what she had been shown. She was taken our booklet and immediately text the owner of the adoption agency that she had made her decision. She was crying to much to talk on the phone. She knew immediately that we were the family for her little girl. Her family camps at Browne Lake every August. We will be meeting her Thursday night, which is also our ten-year anniversary. Maybe this is why we couldn't come up with something awesome to do-what could top meeting our birth mom....
